Of all the natural stone selected by homeowners today, Granite is by far the hardest and most durable material. It is no wonder that so many people choose it for use in the kitchen. Although hard and durable, granite is a porous material which needs periodic protection to prevent staining.

A test to determine if your counter-top needs sealant:
-
1. Thoroughly clean the surface.
-
2. Allow time for the counter-top to dry.
-
3. Place a few drops of water in several locations & place a glass up-side down over the water drops. The water should “bead-up”.
-
4. Wait 15 minutes.
-
5. If the water has absorbed into the surface, it is time to re-seal the surface.
-
6. If the water remains in a “beaded-up” state, then sealant is not necessary.
To ensure longevity of the surface it is recommended that a sealant is applied regularly. High use areas may need sealant every 6 months, but in most cases an annual treatment is sufficient.
In order for the sealant to be applied properly, it necessary for the surface to be absolutely clean proir to application. Mean Clean has the proper cleaning equipment & sealing products to assure long life of the surface and cleanliness.
